BAYS endorses MYSA policy 2.10 on Grade 4 or younger players playing up into results oriented competitions (BAYS Grade 5 and up is results oriented). The policy allows the following exemptions for placing grade and younger players on teams playing in results oriented competitions:
1. the club does not have enough players to field a team in the older age group without the participation of the player;
- or -
2. the player’s skills justify the placement.
The policy requires the club to notify the parent league. This requirement is met by notifying the BAYS Registrar and the appropriate division director for the team where the player is placed. Notification consists of the player's name, birthdate, and which exemption the club believes applies.
No waiver is required.
BAYS endorses the Mass Youth Soccer Heading Policy which can be found on the Governance page and then scrolling down to Additional Policies and Guidelines
BAYS and Mass Youth Soccer do not allow heading in Grade 6 and below. BAYS further will not allow any player in Grade 5 or below to play up in Grade 8 or higher.
